Description

Polygonum sachalinense (Knotweed). This is a perennial species with robust stems 2-4m which are red-brown in colour forming a coarse thicket. The leaves are ovate to oblong with a heart-shaped base. The flowers are borne in dense panicles of green-white blooms in the summer.

Can be used for ground cover, edging or rock gardens. Suitable for coastal conditions. Attracts butterflies.
