Evergreens, Shrubs or Trees
Grown for their colourful bracted flower heads.
They need an open, sunny position with light acidic, well-drained soil. You need to prune after flowering to maintain shape and to promote new growth. Plants under glass must have plenty of ventilation throughout the year. Prune, if necessary, in early spring.
Propagation is by seeds in the spring or by semi-ripe cuttings in summer. It can also be grafted or budded.
