Description

Pulsatilla genus (Pasque flower). They are about 30 species of perennials which are evergreen. The flowers are covered in fine hairs and feathery seed heads. The flowering colours range from white, pink, purple and red. They are fully hardy and will need full sun and humus-rich, well drained soil.

Interest and use

Grown for their large feathery leaves, upright or pendent, bell shaped flowers. Suitable for coastal conditions.

Cultivation

They are very frost-hardy plants, they will prefer a moist, gritty soil with sun or partial-shade.

Propagation

You can propagate from seeds or by division. Resents disturbance to roots although you can take root cuttings in winter when fresh.
