Aristotelia genus. This genus consists of evergreen shrubs and deciduous trees, they are grown for their foliage. You will need to separate the male and female plants in order to obtain fruits. They are frost hardy, but in most areas you will need to protect by growing against other shrubs or a south or west facing wall. They will need sun or semi-shade in fertile well drained soil. Propagation is by semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.
