Description

Reynoutria japonica (Japanese knotweed). A tall and vigorous wild perennial forming dense thickets. Leaves are broadly triangular and white flowers are borne in spikes. Introduced between 1825 and 1840 as an ornamental and for feeding cattle, this has now become a problem in the wild. Found on waste ground.
