Description

Artemisia genus (Wormwood). This genus consists of perennials and spreading, dwarf sub-shrubs and shrubs, some of which are evergreen or semi-evergreen. They are grown mainly for their decorative foliage which is often aromatic; the flowers are very small.

Interest and use

Grown for the fern-like, silvery foliage that is sometimes aromatic. Suitable for coastal conditions.

Cultivation

They are fully to half hardy and will prefer an open sunny, well drained site. Trim lightly in spring.

Propagation

You can propagate by division in the spring or autumn, or by softwood or semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.

Prone to aphids.
