Rheum genus (Rhubarb). This are about 50 species of rhizomatous perennials, they are grown for their striking appearance and large basal leaves, they are usually coarsely toothed and have prominent midribs and veins. The flowers are tiny and star-shaped, they will appear in the summer and are followed by winged fruits.
Grown for their foliage and striking overall appearance.
They prefer full sun or partial-shade with deep moist, humus-rich soil.
You can propagate from seed or by division.
Susceptible to viruses.
