Rhodiola genus. This genus consists of 50 species of fleshy leafed, rhizomatous perennials. They will produce a mass of thickened stems with simple, often toothed, grey-green leaves. The flowers are single and star-shaped in shades of yellow, orange, red and occasionally green or white.

You should plant in an area that remains moist in the summer but which is not boggy in the winter.
Propagation is by division in spring or by cuttings of the young growth.
