Description

Artemisia vulgaris (Mugwort). An upright bushy shrub producing flowers throughout the summer it can be found in marsh and meadow-land. This plant is often found in the wild in Northern Europe. STEM: Upright, grooved, reddish. ROOT: Branched stock. HAIRS: White; woolly under leaves. STIPULES: Absent LEAF-STALK: Short or absent. BRACTS: 0.25-0.3cm around head, papery-edged; none between florets. FLOWER STALK: Absent; short under heads. SEPALS: Absent PETALS: 5, tubular, lobes equal. STAMENS: 5, joined into tube. STIGMA: 1, 2-lobed; style long. OVARY: 1, below petals, 1-celled. SEEDS: 1, not released.
