Aspidistra genus (Cast iron plant). This genus consists of evergreen rhizomatous perennials that will spread slowly. They produce lance-shaped to elliptic leaves which are glossy green. It will flower in spring and summer producing small cream-red-brown or purple blooms.

They are frost hardy with a min of -5C. They are very tolerant, but are better grown in a cool shady position away from direct sunlight, in very well drained soil. You will need to water frequently when in full growth, and then less at other times.
Propagation is by division of rhizomes in the spring.
In a greenhouse you may find problems with mealy bugs, spider mites, scale insects.
