Cultivation

Some species will tolerate only light frosts, but some of the perennials are more frost-hardy. They will grow well when planted in full sun in well drained light soil with adequate watering in the summer. You can propagate from seeds in the spring, cuttings in early summer, or division at any time.

Propagation

Propagate shrubs and sub-shrubs by softwood, semi-ripe or basal cuttings in mid-summer. Sow seed of half hardy annuals under glass in early spring and of fully hardy species outdoors in mid-spring. You can propagate perennials by division in the spring.

Pests, diseases or disorders

Slugs and snails when young.
