Description

Salvia virgata (Sage). This is a perennial herb growing to 1m with leaves to 30cm, which are ovate to lanceolate with a heart-shaped base. The flowers are panicles or racemes of purple or white, tubular blooms.

Grown for their tubular, 2-lipped, often brightly coloured flowers and aromatic foliage. Leaves of some species may be used for flavouring foods. Suitable for coastal conditions.
