Description

Saxifraga granulata (Meadow saxifrage). This plant is often found in the wild in Northern Europe. STEM: Single, upright. ROOT: Fibrous, bulb-like buds from base of lowest leaves. HAIRS: Scattered, long, white, stickily hairy above. STIPULES: Absent. LEAF-STALK: Longer than blade or short on stem leaves. BRACTS: Small, slender. FLOWER STALK: 0.4-2cm, stickily hairy. SEPALS: 5, oval, tip blunt. PETALS: 5, oval. STAMENS: 10 STIGMA: 2, on long styles. OVARY: 1, 2-celled. SEEDS: Many, egg-shaped, rough.
