Schizostylis genus (Kaffir lily). This is a single species of grassy-leafed rhizomatous perennials. The flowering stems are long and borne in terminal clusters of cup-shaped, 6-petalled flowers, appearing in shades of deep scarlet and pink.
Perennials, Evergreens, Herbaceous
Flowers that are excellent for cutting. Suitable for coastal conditions.
They are frost hardy, and prefer full sun with fertile, moist soil. Plants rapidly become congested, so should be divided in spring every few years.
You can propagate from seeds in spring or by dividing the clumps of rhizomes.
