Ive seen succulent swaps take place in the US. would be interested in attending/ starting one here. Any interest?
Sempervivum genus (Houseleek). These are evergreen perennials, which are grown for their symmetrical rosettes of oval to strap-shaped, pointed fleshy leaves. The flowers are star-shaped with 8-16 spreading petals.
Europe, Africa and Asia
Grown for its leaves and flowers. Makes ground covering mats, suitable for rock gardens, screens, walls, banks and alpine houses.
They are fully hardy and you can plant in full sun in a gravelly very well-drained soil. They take several years to reach flowering size. Rosettes die after flowering but leave numerous offsets.
Propagation is by offsets in the summer.
May suffer from rust
