Sparaxis genus (Wandflower). There are about 6 species of cormous perennials. They produce loose spikes of 5 cup-shaped, brightly coloured flowers, which are borne in late spring and early summer. The leaves are lance-shaped and ribbed and occur in an upright basal fan. They are half hardy and will need a sunny, well drained site.

You can grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil with full sun. You will need to provide shelter from cold winds. Dry off corms after flowering.
You can propagate by offsets in late summer or by seeds in the autumn.
