Description

Stenocarpus sinuatus (Queensland firewheel tree). This is a slow-growing tree, which has an upright, thick trunk with dark brown bark topped by a dense crown of foliage. The leaves are shiny and dark green and are about 30cm long. The interesting skittle-shaped buds produce flowers about 8cm across, which are orange to red and are arranged in cluster-like spokes on a wheel.
