Description

Stewartia pseudocamellia (Japanese stewartia). This is a broadly columnar deciduous tree with peeling pink to red-brown, grey bark and ovate to elliptic, finely toothed, dark green leaves turning yellow to orange red in autumn. The white, cup-shaped flowers are borne in mid summer.
