Thespesia genus (Portia tree). There are about 17 species of evergreen perennial, shrubs and trees. The shape of the leaf can vary from heart-shaped, oval and palmate with up to 9 lobes. The flowers are 5-petalled and usually bell-shaped and are either yellow or orange with red or purple centres, and are borne singly or in small clusters.

They are frost tender, min 16-18C and will need full light and well drained soil in full sun or morning shade. You should prune annually in early spring to maintain this plant as a shrub.
Propagation is by seeds in the spring or by semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.
