Description

Thunbergia alata (Black-eyed Susan). This is a tender perennial which is grown as an annual. The leaves are dark green and heart-shaped, with flowers that are bell-shaped, tubular and yellow-orange, with very dark brown centres, and appear in the summer.

Cultivation

They will need moist, well drained soil with full sun and plenty of water during the growing period. They are marginally frost hardy to frost tender. They will need support or can be grown in a hanging container. In the dormant period, less water is recommended.

Propagation

You can propagate from seeds in spring and cuttings in summer.
