Trillium genus (Trinity flower). There are about 30 species of deciduous perennials. They produce upright or nodding, solitary funnel-shaped flowers with 3 simple petals. The leaves are deciduous and produced in whorls which remain green until the autumn.

Excellent for woodland gardens.
They are fully to frost hardy, and will prefer a moist, fertile, preferably neutral to acidic soil with ample water and shade.
Propagation is by division after the foliage has died down in the summer or by seeds in the autumn.
