Trochodendron genus. One species of evergreen tree, which is grown for its foliage and flowers. It is frost hardy but will need shelter from strong cold winds. It tolerates sun or shade and will require moist but well drained soil, and will dislike very dry or very shallow, chalky soil. Propagation is by semi-ripe cuttings in the summer or by seeds in the autumn.
