Xanthosoma violaceum (Blue tannia). This is a tuberous perennial bearing veined, arrow-shaped leaves on dark purple stalks, about 1m high. The flowers are pale yellow, arum-like and are produced throughout the year, and the edible tubers have pink flesh.
