Description

Acer palmatum ‘Trompenburg’. Acer palmatum 'Trompenburg' has shiny deep burgundy leaves in spring which turn greener in the summer. The leaves also have 7 narrow lobes which are convex in shape. In autumn the foliage turns orange-red and crimson.

In Latin, the word 'acer' means hard or sharp. Maple wood was used by the Romans to make lances.
