Description

Begonia ‘Nora Bedson’ (Begonia). Rhizomatous begonia with ovate, sharp-pointed, brown and green mottled leaves and red-speckled stems. Pink flowers appear in springtime.

Needs

Cultivation

Grow in light well-drained soil or loam-based potting compost. Water frequently in hot weather but do not allow the soil to become too moist. A balanced liquid fertiliser can be applied occasionally especially when in full growth. Pot on each spring. They prefer slightly acidic soil.

Propagation

Sow seeds of species at 21C as soon as they are ripe. Root stem and leaf cuttings can be rooted in spring or early summer in partial sun in a propagating case.

Pests, diseases or disorders

Is susceptible to powdery mildew and botrytis from late spring to early autumn.
