Description

Acer palmatum var. coreanum (Japanese maple). Also known as palmatum amoenum and A. palmatum var. heptalobum. This variety is a small tree or shrub with medium green leaves, turning bright red in the autumn. Red-purple flowers appear in the spring, which turn into red decorative, winged fruits (samaras).

Cultivation

Leaf eating caterpillars or aphids sometimes infest plants. Also prone to scale insects, tar spot, Verticillium wilt, leaf scorch and honey fungus.
