Description

Pachystegia genus (Marlborough rock daisy). A small group of unusual and distinctive species in the daisy family, Asteraceae. Native to New Zealand, the plants naturally occur on dry, rocky terrain in coastal areas, and thus tolerate strong, salt-laden winds. Looks most like a dwarf rhododendron until it flowers.
