Description

Pachystegia insignis (Marlborough rock daisy). A remarkable plant with handsome, leathery silver-green leaves edged in tomatose, fuzzy white which also coats the underside of the leaves and the stems. In late spring/early summer, flower heads with unique geometric patterning emerge to reveal ivory white daisies with rich butter-yellow centres. The silvery tomatose felting completely covers young leaves but rubs off as the leaves mature to reveal a dark, rich green leaf colour.
