Description

Betula pendula (Birch). The Silver Birch is a very popular landscape tree which is grown for its weeping habit and graceful form. The foliage can range from a rich green to dark red or reddish-green. The bark on the trunk is white marked with black and it makes a dramatic display against a dark evergreen background. The glossy leaves are about 6cms long with a diamond shaped and a tapered point, that will turn yellow in the autumn.
