Bifrenaria genus. These are evergreen, epiphytic orchids which in the wild grow on tree branches or rocks. These are evergreen perennials. The flowers consist of 3 outer sepals and 3 inner petals, the lowest of which is usually enlarged. The flowers can be colourful and are very attractive.

In temperate climates, they need to be grown in greenhouses. Can be grown in pots but also on slabs of bark. Weak foliar feeds can be added to the sprays.
Older leafless pseudobulbs which can be removed for replanting, or from new growth which may appear from the bottom of the plant.
