Description

Bomarea caldasii. A deciduous climber from South Africa. The leaves are mid green, and it bears profuse umbels of orange yellow flowers in late spring.

Cultivation

They are half hardy to frost tender, min 5C. Grow them in any well drained soil with full light. You must water regularly in the growing season and sparingly when dormant. You might need to provide some support. You need to cut out the old flowering stems at ground level when the leaves turn yellow.

Propagation is by seeds or by division in the early spring.
