Description

Acer platanoides ‘Crimson Sentry’ (Norway maple). This is an upright, small tree with a conical habit and glossy, reddish burgundy leaves in summer. The foliage turns red in the autumn. 'Crimson Sentry' is narrower than 'Crimson King' with a paler, generally more reddish colour and more delicately incised leaves.

This dwarf tree came about when a stunted sport was spotted on a 'Crimson King' tree in Oregon 1974.
