Description

Acer shirasawanum (Shirasawa's Maple). This is a broad bushy species with 11-13 lobed ovate leaves which will turn red in the autumn. The flowers have purplish red sepals and the shoots of the young leaves are hairless. The winged fruit is purple-red, turning brown as it matures.
