Description

Acer triflorum (Rough-barked maple). This is a small, understory, upright tree with flaky bark which is a mixture of yellow and brown. It has a densely branched, rounded crown. In the autumn the leaves turn orange-red. The leaves are compound, consisting of 3 leaflets. In spring, green-yellow flowers appear in threes.
