Description

Acer velutinum var. vanvolxemii (Van Volxem's maple). This Maple has large leaves which are 20-30 cm long, similar in shape to the Sycamore with blue-green undersides and long stalks.

Woody perennial, Deciduous, Tree

Origin

Georgia, Azerbaijan. Introduced to cultivation by Van Volxem, who sent it to Kew in around 1873.
