Calendula genus (Marigold). The genus has about 20 species of bushy annuals and evergreen perennials, the leaves are simple and aromatic, the flowers are daisy-like with orange or yellow flowerheads.
Suitable for coastal conditions.
Grow them in sunny position with well drained soil. Dead-heading will prolong the flowering.
Propagation is by annuals, sow the seeds outdoors in the spring or autumn, the shrubs by stem cuttings in the summer. Annuals may self seed.
