Description

Achillea filipendulina ‘Gold Plate’ (Fern-leaf yarrow). This is a popular variety which will produce deep yellow, flattened heads and will flower between early and late summer. Foliage is ferny and dark green.

Cultivation

It will tolerate growing in average to poor soil, which makes it a good choice for problem areas in the garden. You should dead-head to promote repeat flowering. The flowers are very popular in dried floral arrangements. For best results you should divide every 3 to 5 years in early spring or the autumn.

Propagation

You can propagate by softwood cuttings in the early summer or divide plants in spring.

Powdery mildew is common and aphids may be a problem.
