Achnatherum genus (Feather grass). The leaves in this genus are basal and have rounded flower stems that will bear alternate long, narrow leaves. The flowers will be bisexual with males and females on the same spikelet. Each flower head will comprise of spikelets with one or more florets; they are covered with glumes or scales.
Seed in spring or autumn, or by division in autumn; however cultivars should be propagated by division only.
Usually little trouble from pests and diseases.
