Description

Achnatherum calamagrostis (Rough feather grass). This species is a stout tufted perennial with stems growing to about 130cm in height. The leaves are channelled and narrow to a long slender tip. The flowers are a panicle with purplish flowered spiklets flowering in mid to late summer. It can be found in rocky or stony, calcareous soils.

Synonymous with Stipa calamagrostis.
