Description

Carpobrotus genus. This genus consists of mat forming perennial succulents with triangular, fleshy dark green leaves.

Interest and use

Grown for its daisy-like flowers. Erosion control, being excellent for binding sandy soils. Suitable for coastal conditions.

Cultivation

They are half hardy to frost tender, min 5C and will need full sun and well drained soil. They will grow well in sandy soils.

Propagation

You can propagate by seeds or stem cuttings in the spring or summer.

Pests, diseases or disorders

Susceptible to mealy bugs.
