Description

Centaurea cyanus (Cornflower). This species is a branched clump of deciduous annuals. They are wildflowers which are native to the Mediterranean-Southern Europe and Northern Asia. They will produce thistle-like flowers in blue, purple, pink, white or red shades which will emerge from the summer through to the early autumn. The foliage is a grey green.

Cultivation

They will thrive in full sun except in a scorching summer heat and will tolerate partial shade. Grow in any soil as long as it is well drained. Dead head to prolong flowering.
