Description

Actaea alba (White baneberry). This perennial is known for its white berries which are produced in late summer on curving red stems. Each berry has a small black dot in the middle and one can see how the common name, 'White doll's eyes' came into being. It will produce fresh green leaves which are divided. The flowers are bourne on a white, bottle-brush-like spike in spring.
