Chamaecyparis thyoides (White cypress). An evergreen, narrowly conical, dwarf conifer from eastern North America. Leaves are green grey blue and grouped into fans.

Cultivation

They are tolerant of chalky soils but grow best in moist but well drained neutral to slightly acid soil. If the conifer produces more than one leader, to maintain the general conical habit remove all but one leader. To restrict the height of the plant, the leader can be cut back.

Propagation

From cuttings, the typical tree forms from seed.

Pests, diseases or disorders

Aphids, honey fungus may be a problem where young plants are more susceptible.
