Chionochloa genus (Snow grass). The genus has about 20 species. The leaves are narrow. The flowers which are produced are bisexual with males and females in the same spikelet; they are covered with glumes or scales.

Propagate by seed in spring or autumn, or by division in autumn; however forms should be propagated by division only.
