Clarkia genus (Farewell to spring). There are around 36 species in this genus. They are bushy annuals, the flowers are funnel-shaped and they are either pink or white.

Grown for their flowers which are good for cutting. Suitable for coastal conditions.
They are fully hardy and will grow in a sunny position in reasonably fertile, well drained soil. You should avoid rich soil as this will encourage vegetative growth at the expense of the flowers.
You can propagate by seeds which are sown outdoors in the spring or in early autumn in mild areas.
Botrytis may be troublesome.
