Description

Clerodendrum trichotomum ‘Carnival’ (Glory tree). An upright, round and bushy deciduous shrub or tree native to Japan and China. Leaves are ovate to entire and dark green. In early summer to autumn, white-green, star-shaped flowers appear in cymes.

Cultivation

Thin out crowded growth in spring. Stems require support. They are fully hardy to frost tender, min 5C and will need humus-rich, well drained soil. Give them a position in full sun with partial shade in the summer. Make sure you water them freely in the growing season, and less at other times.

Propagation

Propagation is by seeds in the spring, or by softwood cuttings in late spring or by semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.

Red spider mites, white fly and mealy-bugs.
