Clitoria genus. There are about 70 species of evergreen climbers, perennials and shrubs in this genus. The leaves are pinnate. The flowers are borne singly or in small clusters; they are large and pea-shaped. The genus was named after the human female clitoris for obvious reasons.
Perennials, Evergreens, Shrubs
Grown for their large, pea-like flowers.
They are frost tender, min 5C, and will grow in any fertile well drained soil, in full light. You should water moderately, and less when not in full growth. Provide support for stems. Thin out crowded stems in spring.
You can propagate by seeds in the spring or by softwood cuttings in the summer.
Whitefly and red spider mite may be a problem.
