Description

Colchicum genus (Autumn crocus). These are spring and autumn flowering corms. They have goblet shaped blooms which are about 20cms long; some will bloom before the leaves appear. The leaves are narrowly strap-shaped to broadly elliptic and basal leaves.

Grown for their mainly goblet shaped blooms.

Cultivation

The are fully to frost hardy, and will need an open sunny situation with well drained soil. Plant at a depth of approximately 9cm.

You can propagate by seed or division in the autumn.

All parts are toxic if ingested. Grey mould can be a problem.
