Description

Convolvulus althaeoides. A climbing, stalked perennial clump native to Southern Europe's' Mediterranean region. Spreads by underground rhizomes. Above ground it has trailing-twining stems and grey-green, heart-shaped to ovate leaves are strongly lobed. Profuse spikes of pale pink-purple flowers are borne in late spring and summer.

Cultivation

It will need staking and may become invasive.

Propagation

Propagate by seed sown outdoors in mid spring for hardy plants or under glass in spring for tender plants, perennials and sub-shrubs by softwood cuttings in late spring or summer. The annuals should be sown direct and you will need to soak your seeds for 24 hours prior to sowing them.
