Description

Coprosma genus. These are evergreen shrubs and small trees. The leaves are large glossy and borne in opposite pairs. The flowers mostly greenish and small.

Indonesia to Australia. New Zealand and Pacific Islands

Interest and use

Grown for their handsome foliage and fruits.

Cultivation

They are half hardy to frost tender, min 2-5C. They will prefer full light and well drained soil. You should water the containerized specimens freely in the summer and moderately at other times. Separate male and female plants are needed to obtain fruits.

Propagation

Propagation is by seed in spring or by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer.
